This morning I had the privilege of attending the 27th Annual YMCA of San Diego County Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Human Dignity Award Breakfast. It was a terrific event that was well-organized and very well-attended with over 1,000 participants. The program honored both Dr. King's legacy and this year's award recipient Ambrose Brodus Jr.
The keynote address, delivered by Rev. Dr. Arthur Cribbs, Jr., was very moving and covered a range of issues from civil and immigrant rights to marriage equality, the Occupy Wall Street movement, and the divisive factions forming due to diverse beliefs. The next time Dr. Cribbs speaks in San Diego, I will definitely try to make it.
