Found in the Museo del Ojo in Garcia, Nuevo Leon. A key part of understanding the cultural history of Mexico is to understand how families relate to loved ones who have passed. Google “day of the dead” (el día de los muertos) to get started. It also plays a key role in artesania.

Last weekend I took this photo of the church in Villa de Santiago, a little community about 30 minutes from where I live. In 2006 it was named a “pueblo mágico” (magic town) in recognition of its historic preservation.

Trashed flowers found in Villa de Santiago, Nuevo León. No colors were altered; the trash cans there are indeed this color of toxic-glow-green. It looks like they still have some life in them. Today’s image is of a sundial located in the Macroplaza here in Monterrey. We discovered someone forgot to tell the sun to change it’s watch for Daylight Savings Time.

The Museo Metropolitano de Monterrey is one of the few museums here that let you take photos of the exhibitions. This is an image I shot on Saturday of an adding machine that is displayed with other office equipment from the turn of the century (and I am not referring to Y2K).
