On a side note: In case some are wondering why I have not posted to the photoblog for awhile – I have been in the midst of moving, or better said, relocating. The big time-consuming challenge has been that I am not just changing houses, or cities, but countries with a move back to the US after spending several years in Mexico. And with my love for warmer climates (or more like overwhelming desire to avoid cold winters), I have chosen to make Southern California my home. More photos soon!!!!

This image is from outside of La Purisima, a church in Monterrey. The church was built in the 40s and with a good deal of controversy for the modern design of the art that adorns it (article in Spanish). I may add a few more pictures of it this week. The outside of the church, it’s grounds, and the park in front of it are very-well kept. If only the same were true for the artwork.

With pirated DVDs cutting into her royalty checks, the years have not been kind to Ariel. It looks like she is working as a showgirl to supplement her income.

Seriously, this is just another shot of what I found on the street one Sunday morning while walking through downtown Monterrey.

This huge pigeon (I guess if it were white, I’d say dove) resides outside of Monterrey’s modern art museum.
